Lessig's nightmare

Mike Bloomberg's out; Joe biden's not dead yet;
The banker's money's on the taller horse.
Another billionaire he won't forget
Joe's got the back of any who'll endorse.

Four decades, he's been voting on our bills
but won't defend the policies he's backed.
Uninterested in the People's will,
he runs on personality, not facts.
Joe's Delaware's a corporation's dream;
these 'persons' sin with broad impunity.
And they've been quick to help him in this scheme
Election-time, there's reciprocity.
The billion-dollar ante to campaign

has dragged our "fair" republic down the drain.

infighting

Mike Bloomberg's staked a claim in Biden's lane
on old McCarthyites who live in fear
of "socialism" 'though they can't explain
just what that language seeks to mean this year.
The wafflers Buttigieg feels he should own
are still engaged as long as Joe's in play.
He's getting snappish guarding that fat bone
and Klobuchar just hasn't gone away.
The influence an Adelson can wield

among Republicans who want his funds
eludes Mike Bloomberg within this field;

they seem contemptuous of his late run.
A guy for whom the System works so well

is ill-equipped  to fix this Trumpty Hell.

values

Mike Bloomberg brings Big Money to the fight
like Boromir, aspiring to the Ring.
Self-reassuring that he knows what's right
But sages fear he'd make himself a king.
"Unreasonable Search" was policy
and thousands were arrested without cause
their reputations tattered recklessly
when he empowered cops to break our laws.
Jean Jacques Rousseau extolled equality
A principle the French cannot forget
without which, very few are ever free
unproven axiom, but a good bet.
False prophets chastise Bernie for his rage
But Class War's the big issue in our Age

FauxLeft

Mike Bloomberg scores a 'D' on CivilRights;
unreasonable search was fine by him!
Our constitution wasn't worth a fight
when dissidents were booked at Popo's whim.
But now he's seen Joe Biden drop the pace,
and leaps to stake that lane out as his own.
Big bankers want a champion in this race
and Trump can't carry all their hopes alone.

Like Garnet Coleman warned, four years ago,
the DNC won't let the People choose
an honest socialist when there's more dough
behind a guy who writes his own puff news.
The "factions" that our Founding Fathers feared
risk our republic's soul, this coming year.

one more billionaire

The donors who had pumped Joe Biden's bid

are showing doubts the old boy can compete.
Increasingly, they're flirting with the kid;
new waves of money lap at mayor Pete.
Mike Bloomberg saw Joe falter, took the jump
to seize the corporate Democrats' lane.
While no one thinks he's half as bad as Trump,

he still speaks more for Wall-Street than for Main-.
He's run a city, paid his civic dues
and--'though he'll grumble--always pays his tax.
But better still, he'd just buy out FoxNews
unplugging waves of scurrilous attacks.
Until votes out-weigh dollars in this race
the People's int'rest still wears Bernie's face.

splittist

Mike Bloomberg smells an opportunity
there's no one who can unify the Right
in such a field, it seems to him that he
might sweep away some smoke and shed more light
a Jewish financier to take on Cruz
and all his snide allusions to New York
a One Percenter speaking for the Few
to guard the Banking Sector and its pork
beyond Manhattan, who'd flock to his cause
or do more sympathize with OCCUPY?
he sees the Big Banks' strengths but not their flaws

his shining city's all pie-in-the-sky
each vote for him comes out of Clinton's pool
the WallStreet bankers need but their one tool
