callous

Aleppo's children starve, but who's to care
defying Putin's not their war to fight
they're too concerned with Syrians' flight here
to challenge Russia's military might
no television crews are on those scenes
to document the way the dying feel
until a pundit tells us what it means
Americans pretend it isn't real
each death's a world unrealized, stillborn
you'd think the Right-to-Lifers would engage
but if they're Muslim, there's no one to mourn
they limp ashore to meet more fear and rage
the Torch of Freedom lights a bolted gate
where Donald's gospel's Greed, and Fear, and Hate
