Maimonides explored the mind of God
and found--in many ways--it's like our own
but none can known the whole of it 'til sod
luxuriates atop our rotting bones
our intellect's a shadow of His thoughts
'though infinitely lesser in degree
that eating the forbidden fruit has bought
out of the Garden, labor-wracked but free
now intellect upon itself turns back
and finds it has no solid place to stand
before the Divine Problem is attacked
he wants us to first grasp the mind of Man
such study baffles all but very few
it's not an easy thing to be a Jew
